Two-man drill - Doan Chee Sao (Sticking Hands)

Variation Four - Full Circle

  1. 'L' and 'R' face each other in the basic position. 'R' extends right arm in open hand block, 'L' places his left arm over in monkey fist hand position. (photo 1)
  2. 'R' attempts right vertical palm (photo 2), 'L' uses his drop elbow block to push to waist level. (photo 3).
  3. 'L' instigates a low fist attack, 'R' uses a cultivating block to divert. (photo 4)
  4. 'R' replies with a lower spade hand (horizontally held). (photo 5)
  5. 'L' is "sensitive" to this and counters with a lower open hand block. (photo 6)
  6. 'L' without hesitation attacks with vertical palm (finger pointing down). (photo 7)
  7. 'R' responds with a circling hand block. (photo 8)
  8. 'R' then attacks with a rising punch which is countered by 'L' with his open hand block. (photo 9)
  9. 'R' returns his hand into a monkey hand position with 'L' remaining in his open hand block. (photo 10)

This practiced, like the others is repeated many times with the changing of hands until properly understood.

The arms are touching all the time.
